8:30 Service: In-person, Communion every Sunday ~ 11:00 Service: In-person & Livestream

Second continued its longstanding tradition of supporting the Salvation Army's Christmas Red Kettle campaign this year by ringing the bell at the Beaumont Kroger

on December 21st through the 23rd. 35 families of volunteers raised over $3800.

These funds support ministries as diverse as:

  • Religious Services
  • Disaster Relief
  • Casework and Counseling
  • Youth Services
  • Senior Centers
  • Human and Sexual Trafficking Advocacy
  • Veterans Services
  • Prison Services

In offering a note of thanks for Second's continuing work with the Red Kettle Campaign, the Salvation Army also offered this word of appreciation and thanksgiving for Bill Fortune— who initiated and led this church's volunteer recruitment from the beginning through this past season before his death this past January.

They wrote: "It was with great sadness that we received the news of Bill Fortune’s passing. His founding role in your church’s bell-ringing campaigns and his infectious enthusiasm and generosity have left a lasting legacy. We join you in mourning his loss and celebrating his life and contributions. We also commend Elizabeth Briggs for stepping forward to continue this valuable work. Bill’s spirit of giving and community service will undoubtedly live on through the efforts of all those he inspired."

Thanks to all who volunteered and for Bill Fortune's leadership and inspiration over the years!
