Martha Anderson
Organist
Martha loves hearing the congregation sing lustily during the hymns and enjoys enhancing our worship experience with organ selections. After graduating from Millikin University, Martha served as organist at numerous churches in cities including, Decatur, IL, Bloomington, IL, Champaign, IL, and First Presbyterian, Lexington, KY. For over 50 years, Martha served as a general music educator at The Lexington School. With a gift of time, Martha is renewing her interest in gardening, catching up on favorite books, and loving her family and friends near and far.
About our organ:
The organ at Second Presbyterian began as a product of the most distinguished organ builder of his day, Ernest M. Skinner. The organ, Opus 760, was installed in 1929 and has undergone restoration and changes.
