2018 J-Term Classes

Posted on Dec 12 , 2017 in Events & Latest News

On Sunday mornings in January most of our regular Adult Church School classes take a break during the month. Join us for our J-Term classes beginning Sunday, January 7th in the Forum Room from 9:40-10:40 a.m.  All seeking to live a fulfilling life, but especially those who are coping with their own or a loved one’s life-changing illness, are encouraged to attend.

“Wholeness and Mindfulness

Medicine doesn’t have all the answers, and for some, no answers at all.  When your doctor tells you she’s done all she can do, how do you make the most of the life you have left to live?  You have faith and friends and loved ones, and you want to keep going, but you also have pain, sleeplessness and depression.  There are things you want to experience, relationships you want to heal, and love you want to share.  We’ll gather resources from within and outside our congregation and support each other to find joy in these challenging days.

The four sessions of the J-term class will focus on (1) Wellness, or care for your body with nutrition, activity, and integrative health practices; (2)  Mindfulness, or caring for your soul with meditation, inspiring reading, listening and finding beauty in everyday life; and (3) Wholeness, or sharing experiences with friends, family, neighbors or church members.  We’ll also discuss readings from Kitchen Table Wisdom by Rachel Naomi Remen. Be sure you invite your friends and family.
