Youth Group meets on Sundays from 4-6 PM and is a great way to get to know other youth in the church through games and group-building activities as well as building your faith with thought-provoking activities, discussions, and mission and outreach projects! Often we will do whole group activities or games with 6th through 12th grade and then break into middle school and high school for discussion and additional activities. Although sports and other activities may mean you can’t come every Sunday, or for a season, all youth are welcome to join us any Sunday throughout the year!
*We will not meet on holiday weekends or when Fayette County schools are out on the following Monday, and we will not have a meal this year.
2021-2022 RELEASE FORMS
For youth to participate, we do ask that we have a release form on file for each youth. Please complete and return the release form to Jen Brown-Murphy.
We also need parent volunteers!
We are asking all parents to sign up for ONE Sunday per semester to be in Fellowship with us. This helps us be able to have plenty of adults participating with us so we can split Middle School and High School for discussion times. It also gives you a chance to get to know our youth and for them to get to know you! Jen and Scott will lead the evening, we just ask that you come join us in our fun. Please sign up for a week HERE.
Topics for September and October Youth Group
Each week our games, team-building, and discussion will revolve around a different topic of faith. Although we have several “themes” for our topics throughout the year, each week is also a stand-alone topic so youth can join us at any time!
September 26th – Old Testament
Who and what do you know from the Old Testament? Let’s play some memory and trivia games and see what we remember…and explore why we even have the Old Testament now? Pick our t-shirt/theme for the year!
October 3rd – Crop Walk, 3-5 PM
This week we will participate in the annual Crop Walk. Make sure to bring your donations and your walking shoes, and let’s have some fun together ending hunger, one step at a time!
Oct 17 – Old Testament: What about all those Commandments?
Why are there so many rules in the OT? Let’s make our own YG Commandments!
Oct 24 –Old Testament: What does the OT teach us about faith?
How can we use that in our lives today?
Oct 31 – Lunch & Pumpkin Carving
Bring lunch and a pumpkin, we’ll provide the carving tools. We’ll meet in the Courtyard after service and carve our pumpkins to decorate our homes that evening!
