SUNDAY MORNING AT SECOND:
|
| Sermons Music |
We are committed to the vibrant worship of God as the center of our congregational life. In our worship we seek to celebrate the sovereign love of God made known in Jesus Christ, and to listen for God's word through Word and Sacrament, Prayer and Song.
There are two services of worship on Sunday morning at 8:30 and 11:00. The Lord's Supper is celebrated weekly during the early service and monthly during the 11:00 service.
Music, under the direction of Vertrelle Cameron-Mickens is vital to our worship. We have several vocal and instrumental choirs, including the Chancel Choir and the Bell Choir for adults. There are two children's choirs, and also a youth handbell choir. The musicians, pastors and lay leaders are committed to worship that is a rich blending of the old and the new in an offering of genuine praise and thanks to the triune God.

Children are a vital part of our congregational life. A "time for children" is part of the 8:30 service throughout the year, and the 11:00 a.m. service except during the summer months.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is regularly celebrated with the homebound and others with special needs. Steve Palmer, associate pastor for special ministries, co-ordinates this ministry in conjunction with our deacons and elders.
