Vacation
Bible School - June 25-28, 2001
"Kaleidoscope"
"Kaleidoscope" is different in a couple
ways from what we've been doing the past couple years.
- First - it's in the evening and
includes supper. Supper is served at 6:00 p.m. and the program meets
6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
- Second - it's for people of all ages.
We have classes for children as we do every year, but this year we've
added options for youth and for adults.
- For youth, we have a 3-D
"map-making" experience planned for middle schoolers, and a
series of "out of building" experiences for high schoolers.
- For adults, we have four options:
First,
we have something for parents - "Forming Faith at Home,"
led by Dr. Sharon Warner, Professor of Educational Ministry at Lexington
Theological Seminary, helping us focus on how to teach and model faith for
children at home.
Sam Pendergrast leads group discussions contemporary
literature and faith in the "Listening for God."
Steve Palmer shares his knowledge of our stained glass
windows at Second in his "Saints in Stained Glass" class
in the sanctuary.
In addition, Bill McAtee and Roberta James leads a Bible
study called "Your Story, My Story, and the Bible's Story"
inviting participants to open up the Bible and allow it to connect with
their own lives. |
