Canaan
House was begun as the result of a partnership with other churches and
public agencies in Lexington to provide a residence for formerly homeless
persons who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. The Deacons' Outreach
Committee coordinates occasional fellowship activities with these residents
and church members, and sponsors work days at Canaan House for clean-up
and maintenance. We also support this mission through Board membership
and substantial financial assistance.
